The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment qualification, also known as the RQF, is one of the key foundation construction courses recognised in the United Kingdom. The RQF course is a flexible course aimed at learners who currently work or want to work in the construction industry.
The RQF1 course helps students gain valuable construction experience and industry knowledge to progress with a career in construction, including areas such as plastering, bricklaying, carpentry, tiling, plumbing and construction.
The Level 1 Award Health and Safety Qualification is an approved CSCS card course aimed at learners who currently work or want to work in the construction industry.

Pre-Entry RQF Training Course Requirements
- All learners that enrol in the RQF must be at least 16 years of age before they can be registered on this qualification.
- A basic level of literacy and the equivalent to a Level 1 proficiency in the English language is also a standard pre-requisite.

How does the online training and assessment work?
At ASTS, our online construction course training is provided through video with short progress exams. A full preparation exam is included with the training, ensuring you will be ready to complete the online assessment to gain your qualification.
- The multiple choice online assessment must be undertaken on a PC or Laptop running Windows 10 with web cam and microphone with a reliable internet connection.
- If the student is successful, the RQF course e-certificate is then issued by email.
In order to sit your exam with our invigilators, your device must fit the specification below:

- Security restrictions within your WIFI (for example, TalkTalk WIFI blocks screen sharing, meaning your exam cannot be invigilated)
- Computers provided by work/school (admin restrictions may not allow 3rd party applications, like the EDExams application to run/be downloaded to the device).

ASTS RQF Gold Service
The ASTS Gold Service is one of two packages offered to gain the full CSCS Green Labourers card.
This service includes the online course and online multiple-choice exam that is offered within the Qualification Only package, in addition to one-to-one liaison to organise the completion of the CITB Health and Safety test at a local test centre to the student.
The Gold Service is £125 and provides all pre-requisites required for a CSCS Green Card application
Upon successful completion of the CSCS Green Card course online, students will be able to enrol in the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Touch Screen Test. This test is included in the Gold Package that we offer at ASTS at an additional cost.
Following the CSCS Card course and the CITB test, students can then apply for a new Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) Green Labourers Card. This CSCS card, enables workers to work on construction sites within the United Kingdom in entry-level roles as a non-skilled worker. Watch the CSCS Green Labourer’s Card video
Refund Policy
Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment RQF online course (including the Gold Package) We have a strict no refund policy once your online learning has been accessed and can monitor this via your learning portal. Due to the sensitive nature of the accredited qualification, once the course material has been accessed any refund request becomes void.
If you have not set up account or logged in to the course and would like to cancel your order, please contact us within 48 hours to qualify for a refund. An admin fee of £30 will be deducted from your refund.
